- Three years full time for a BSc in Podiatry, or four at some universities. A degree apprenticeship is also an option.
2. Is there a 2-year podiatry course available?
- Not one that gets you on the HCPC register. Every recognised route is a full degree. Shorter courses like ours build knowledge only.
3. Is podiatry a well paid job?
- NHS podiatrists enter at Agenda for Change Band 5, which starts above £33,000. Specialist roles reach Band 6 and Band 7.
4. How do I become a podiatrist in the UK?
- Study a degree the HCPC recognises, then join its register. Podiatrist qualifications that count include BSc Podiatry, BSc Podiatric Medicine and a Master of Podiatry.
5. Can I be a podiatrist without a degree?
- No. Both titles are reserved by law for people on the HCPC register, and using either without it can cost you a £5,000 fine. Foot health practitioner carries no degree requirement.
